Hi NWEM's,

I wanted to let you know about a new project I am working on that might interest all you mompreneurs out there. I have started work on a website called The Rocket Pages. It is going to be an online business directory for small businesses here in Seattle. My goal in creating this website is to encourage people in Seattle to start shopping locally and use smaller businesses instead of huge faceless companies. I have a passion for helping small business owners and in this struggling economy I wanted to offer people an affordable way to advertise their business. Cost is $35-$50 per year.

I would love for you to be a part of this. Please give me a call if you would like more information about placing an ad for your business.

Please go and visit the Rocket Pages site at http://www.therocketpages.com  Just keep in mind that I will be working on adding many more businesses in the coming months until the launch date in July. If you have any suggestions on how to make the site look better please let me know! Also feel free to pass this along to any other small business owners you may know!

Live your dreams!

What is NWEM?

Northwest Enterprising Moms (NWEM) is an organization for the innovative business woman and mother who is working to raise her children. She understands the unique challenges of growing both a striving business and a striving family. Our membership spans all different business sizes, from the moms using their kitchen table as their office to multi-million dollar company owners with handfuls of employees. Each mother offers NWEM their unique experience and specialties forming a well rounded and diverse membership.

Our Goals

Our goals as an organization is to create a community which provides resources to entrepreneurial moms so that they can balance between a successful business and healthy family lifestyle.

How did we get started?

Kelly Sharples of Blue DressPress now the tireless president of NWEM, discussed hosting an event for mother owned business in the fall of 2006 with eight local mamaprenuers. In February of 2007 the initial planning stages of the event came to fruition. The first event was held the weekend before Mothers Day in celebration of moms and to generate awareness for the mom-entrepreneurs in the Northwest.

Needless to say, with that many enterprising mothers the event quickly segued into a grander vision of a non-profit organization and we are calling ourselves Northwest Enterprising Moms. Northwest Enterprising Moms is an organization which has been developed by and for moms, designed to promote, network and mentor mother owned businesses.
